Terms of service

Effective September 8, 2026

Welcome to The Maker Squad. These terms apply to custom and quote-based work provided by The Maker Squad, including 3D printing, custom design, engraving, laser cutting, and related fabrication services.

Quotes and Project Approval

Most custom work begins with a request for a quote. Your quote will describe the agreed project scope, quantity, materials, pricing, estimated lead time, shipping or pickup arrangements, and any included design work or revisions.

No production work begins until the quote has been approved and any required payment or deposit has been received.

Changes requested after approval may affect pricing, materials, or completion time and may require a revised quote.

Customer-Provided Files and Content

You are responsible for the files, artwork, logos, images, designs, measurements, specifications, and other content you provide to us.

If you provide a model from MakerWorld, Printables, another model-sharing site, or your own files, we will generally assume you are authorized to have the item produced for your personal or permitted use.

The Maker Squad reserves the right to decline work that we reasonably believe is unlawful, unsafe, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate for production.

Custom Design Work

For Custom Prints and other design services, we may create a design based on your description, photographs, sketches, measurements, examples, or other information you provide.

The approved quote will identify the expected design work and, when applicable, the number or scope of revisions included. Unless otherwise stated, custom design work generally includes up to two reasonable rounds of revisions.

Major redesigns, changes in requirements, or additional revisions may require additional charges.

You are responsible for reviewing dimensions, spelling, names, dates, layout, fit requirements, and other project details before giving final approval.

Measurements, Fit, and Compatibility

For items created from customer-supplied measurements, dimensions, equipment specifications, or reference information, you are responsible for providing accurate information.

We will make reasonable efforts to produce the item to the agreed specifications, but fit or compatibility cannot be guaranteed when measurements or other information supplied to us are incorrect or incomplete.

Materials, Colors, and Production

You do not need to know which filament or manufacturing material is best for your project. We may recommend materials based on factors such as indoor or outdoor use, heat, sunlight, moisture, impact, flexibility, and other environmental conditions.

Requested colors are subject to availability. If a requested material or color is unavailable, we will discuss alternatives or additional lead time with you before making a material substitution that significantly affects the project.

Custom-manufactured items may show normal characteristics of the production process, including visible layer lines, seams, slight surface variations, minor dimensional differences, or small variations in color or finish.

Design and File Ownership

You retain ownership of original files, artwork, photographs, and other content you provide to The Maker Squad.

Unless specifically included in your quote or agreed to in writing, purchasing a finished custom item does not include ownership or delivery of CAD files, editable design files, source files, working files, or other design assets created by The Maker Squad.

If you need the underlying design files as part of your project, let us know so they can be included in the scope and quote.

Safety and Intended Use

Unless specifically stated in writing, products made by The Maker Squad are not certified for medical, life-safety, structural, food-contact, electrical, or other regulated or safety-critical uses.

You are responsible for determining whether a finished product is appropriate for its intended application.

Cancellations

A project may generally be cancelled before design or production work begins.

Once work has started, completed design time, materials already purchased or consumed, setup work, and production already performed may be non-refundable.

Any project-specific cancellation terms included in your approved quote will take precedence over these general terms.

Acceptance

By approving a quote or authorizing The Maker Squad to begin work, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and accepted the project specifications, pricing, and these Terms of Service.
